Things I Would Do if I Were a Multimillionaire.

I've even thought about this one. I would love to be rich. But I have a feeling it's harder than one thinks. I would buy up like 20 run down motels, fix them up and donate them to the city for homeless people. It would help a little. I feel so bad for them. They look so lost and alone. I think it's a tragedy that we have so much homelessness in Arizona. Before long well be like Mexico. The very rich and the dirt poor. More and more Americans are sinking into depression and despair. The ones that are in the middle are praying that they don't lose their jobs. Most people are only two paychecks from being homeless. That's a scary thought.

I wouldn't be rich long. Money goes fast. Then, I would be normal again. 😁🌹❤️

How about you?

I used to have a whole list of "Fun Things to Do with Entirely Too Much Money." Some were social goods; I liked people more back then. Some were always nature projects. Nowadays, I'd probably lean mostly toward nature projects -- buy enough land for a wolf pack, establish an orchard to collect as many apple trees as possible, that sort of thing.

Joey and I talked about what we would do if we ever hit the Powerball--make sure we and the family were comfortable, then (this is me) start donating to LGBTQ+ causes, to the ACLU, and to all candidates who pledged to work for their constituents and actually did that. I really can't see buying multiple vehicles, homes, and toys. Remember, the one with the most toys still dies.

I’d become a philanthropist with a foundation (and growing endowment managed by someone else). I’d love to have a mini grant process for anyone with gigantic sudden house bills (plumbing, electrical, roof, furnace), prioritizing by income and age but not disallowing anyone who’s hit by a surprise repair bill in the thousands. I’d want some kind of sweat equity/pay it forward with volunteering element in there, too.

And I’d travel.

I've thought about this extensively. Sometimes it cheers me up to think about winning the lottery when I feel the current administration is in danger of making me unemployed. I decided I'd keep a quarter of it for myself, divide a quarter for family, a quarter for friends, and then set up a charity with the final quarter that does a few things, one, I want to start a grant process for writer's who want to quit their jobs and write full time, I want to start a writing club at my alma mater high school, and I want to start a fund where people can apply for funds for any reason, big or small. I guess I'd have to find some way to weed through applicants, but since this is my fantasy, I'm not going to worry about that right now! lol
