What are three qualities do you value most in life?

1. Kindness. If a person isn’t kind I have a hard time liking them. Kindness is so easy to have that I don’t understand why everyone isn’t. It’s not like it’s hard work. I think everyone can be kind but some choose the negative.
2. Honesty. I think we need honest friends and family. I would want to know I treated someone badly and left it like that. If someone is a good friend they’ll give you their opinion. Whether you like hearing it or not.
3. Helpfulness. We all need help now and then. So, when I see someone struggling I quickly go into the helpful mode. I think most people do.

I like to be around people who approach disasters and emergencies differently than I do. My first approach, if no one's bleeding, is to make sure we know where everyone's next meal is coming from. That's a good tack, but it's a better one if it's part of a team effort.
In a similar vein, I like it when other people find things I might never have noticed beautiful. My fiance LOVES ants, so for the last decade or so I've suddenly become aware of the things that make ants special. My best friend is very into audio archiving, so now when I'm in a thrift store and see a heap of dusty sound equipment, I'm primed to take a second look and spot possibilities.
And I like good storytellers. When the chips are down, the story you tell about it changes everything.
