We filed for Guardianship today

There was so much paperwork to fill out. It costs a couple thousand to hire a lawyer to do it for us, but I told Rod I was going to take a shot at it. It took forever to get everything filled out, but we went down and the clerk said I did an awesome job. No problems. They took it all, put it into the computer and told us we'll be contacted within 3-4 weeks with our court date. I'm so thrilled that it worked out. Samantha is funny. We got home and she asked, "So am I almost yours?" We explained that she's always been ours. But not she'll even have more rules. LOL She laughed and asked if on the big day we could go out and celebrate. She's such a trooper. That's a damn good idea and we liked it, so that's what we're going to do. It's going to take a long while to hear, but once it's done, we don't have to worry about anything. :)

This is great news, Patt! Then it will all be certain, and whatever happens in the future, you will know Samantha is secure with you! Fingers crossed for the court date, but I can't imagine any problems, considering the situation.

I can't imagine a problem either. The clerk said it's very fast and easy with the Judge. :) So I think everything will be just fine.

Yes, it will. The next either years will be exhausting but thrilling at the same time. :) We're so looking forward to her life with us. We already planned next October's vacation to California. She's so excited.
