Going to Albuquerque to see my mom.

She's not doing really great. Or at least that's what my brother said. So I'm going to see her for five days. Rod's keeping track of Sam, school and after school. Lucky him, eh? They both promised me things would be fine while I was gone. I hope so. I've cooked meals ahead of time so they don't have to fend for themselves. God, I'm a good wife. LOL I'm going to miss all of you while I'm gone. I'm not taking my laptop, so I'll be without internet, I think. I might take my Kindle Fire, but it's not the same. WE'll see what I do when the time comes. Be well.

I was just telling Grey that I think he just misses me. Then just tell me that, don't tell me mom is going downhill really fast. I'll see when I get there. He said she can hardly get around anymore. She can't even stand long enough to do her laundry. So the boys do it for her. She may be failing and if so, I'm glad I'm going.

Plus, caregivers need support, too, and I'm sure he both misses you as well as having someone to share the load for a little while.

Oh, Patt. I hope things are better than your brother's made it sound like. It's really good that you can go and spend some time with her anyway, though. (And I'm sure Rod and Sam will take good care of each other. And enjoy all those meals you got ready for them -- that's definitely gold-star material on your part. :-))
