I had a terrific birthday and am just starting to get tired now. Rodney made shish-ka-bobs for dinner. Chicken and sirloin steak. Then we decided we didn't want anything too heavy to go along with it, so we settled on a fantastic salad with all of the fixings. For dessert later that night we had New York Cheese cake and it was delicious. I'm stuffed and happy. The grandkids were here making it very nice and just Shannon our daughter and Rodney. Very small get-together, but it was perfect.

I got all sorts of office supplies, including a new keyboard. Wow, we have letters again. LOL I wear off the letters. I don't know why, but I do. First thing I did was make up homemade thank you cards for the kids and family members. I had a blast. I love the card making program that I have and I make some really nice cards. It's not that I'm cheap, I just love making them. And I think that they mean more if someone makes them up for you. OKay, maybe I am cheap. LOL

Thank you to everyone that wished me well on my special day. It was indeed special. Sometimes I get a little blue on my birthday because 31 years ago my God-daughter died on my birthday morning. We've never really gotten over that. Poor Shannon was a little blue today because of that. Jennifer was her best friend in the world. She was ten when she died. Rodney always tries very hard to make my day nice to help get past the blues and he almost always succeeds. Yesterday was a good example. He had me laughing and we talked about things that weren't sad and the day flew by. But I think my favorite part was the cheese cake. LOL Is that one word or two?

Have a wonderful week, everyone. I wish you all well.

Hugs, Patt

Rodney (hubster) called me from work and asked what I was doing. I told him I was painting some pictures with Samantha, our granddaughter and having a blast. Well he came home and found a painting from my son Tom. He looked at it for awhile and I could tell he was dying to say something, but he didn't. I said, what do you think of this painting? (Keep in mind, it's a painting of a coastal scene with the ocean, little cottages and houses, rocks, lighthouse and beautiful sky) He turned to me and said, "I can't believe you did this. It's so different from your regular art." LOL Oh my gosh, he thought I painted it. LOL LMAO My art is shit. And he couldn't understand how I had went from shit to a coastal scene in a few weeks. I'm still laughing about it. I would show you all my painting from Tom, except my wifi went out and Rodney is going to replace it tomorrow. The scanner is wifi. I'm bummed, because you have to see this gorgeous piece of art to really appreicate the humor in this story. I pulled out my usual shit piece that I had done and I said, this is what I painted today. And he nodded his head and said, "That's what I thought you would be painting." LOL L MAO God, I can't stop laughing. I'm not being hard on myself. I really can't paint. But I enjoy it, it relaxes me, so I do it anyhow. When my son moves back to Tucson late this month, I"m going to see if he can give me some lessons. LOL LMAO I'm joking. I really have no talent in painting and I'm fine with that. Off I go to laugh some more. I hope you all enjoy this story as much as I did. *grin*

Hugs, Patt

Here is the picture of the card he painted. :)
