After a plane ride that should have been two hours and took four,we get here and our grand-daughter feels terrible. Chris takes her to ER and it'sher appendix. Do you believe it? Well, atleast she'll have time off from work now. They are either doing it tonight or early in the morning. Poor thing. Bet she's scared. She's never been in the hospital before. :( Her name is Alexa and would love it if you all sent good wishes her way.Thanks.

I think they only keep them inthe hospital for half-day after the surgery if there is no infection. We'll see. Poor little thing. Her boss yelled at her for being whimping the day before, because she was in pain. She told her to get a grip and welcome to the real world. What a bitch.

At least appendix is a very routine op these days. All the best to her for a short hospital stay, home for Christmas and a quick recovery!

I'm hoping she'll be at her mom's house for the recoup and we can all baby her.She'll love that part. I'm going to get her new warm pajamas,cuz she loves to lounge at her house whennot working. She's going to get lots of pressies from us. Little things that will mean something to her. Nothing too expensive,we likemore thoughtful gifts than expensive, any day.

Oh dear, on the plus side its a fairly routine op these days and its happened now and not on Christmas day so she should be home safe and sound by the holiday for you. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers though coz any op is scary.

Bobby had to have his appendix out when he was 18, (just before prom) and that was 17 years ago. Once they realized what was causing the problem, they set him up for surgery on Sunday and he was home by Tuesday. Things go so much faster now.

Give Alexa our best and hopes for a speedy recovery. And I hope her boss is suitably ashamed of her behavior. What a witch, especially at Christmas time!

PS a two hour flight turning to four sucks. Glad you arrived safely. *hugs*

Oh no. What a worrying start to your Christmas (and after what sounds like a frustrating journey to get there). I will think good thoughts for her and for all of you, that all goes well (which it will!) and she gets to come home fast, and you're all able to relax and enjoy your Christmas together.

(Also, I read your response to one of the comments above, and wow, Alexa's boss sounds like a prize. *eyeroll of disbelief at boss's attitude*)
