and we find out about our niece Jessica and her new surgery. I'm nervous and worried and am hoping for something good to come out of the doctor's visit, but at the same time, when they said they found more cancer, that's not a good thing. Depending on what she has done, she may want me to go stay with her to help her out. Driving her to appointments and doing all the cooking and cleaning at her house. She has a lot to think about. She's only 31. But at least she has youth on her side, right? I keep telling myself that. Today is going to take forever.

I hope you all have a good rest of the week.

Hugs, Patt

Fingers crossed, they can help your niece. They're doing some great things to fight against cancer these days.

You're a good aunt to help take care of her through this terrible time. It'll be stressful for everyone. {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you and yours.

Thank you, Grey. I'm thrilled to be able to go to New Mexico and be with her, but I'm leaving it totally up to her. I don't want to intrude.

I'm sure her mind's in a tizzy right now and she'll appreciate having someone there to help. I don't know your niece so I don't know how independent she is, but even the most tough of us need help to shoulder the burden of everyday living sometimes when we're ill. It's hard to know when to step in and when to back off with some people. Hopefully, she's a good communicator and can let you know what she needs and when she needs it.

We've talked and she doesn't want to feel like she needs any help, but she said she's more scared this time. Plus if they give her a mastectomy she'll need help with changing bandages and all of that. It's going to be much harder then the other surgery was. So it will all depend on what she finds out today and then we'll make plans from there. She's such an angel, I don't mind spending as long as she needs me. She would do it for me in a heartbeat. :)

Nobody wants to accept help, but I'm glad you're there anyway. When one is sick, the brain fogs over and thinking gets fuzzy and so family support can mean everything when it comes to healing. She needs to concentrate on being in a good place mentally, so anything you can do to help make things easier will be a godsend.
