Yeah, I'm finishing my Observer story now, and I'm thinking next year, it's done or I'm not offering it. I mean, I adore how this is turning out, but the deadline is no fun.
And I am thrilled. I love knowing that the stories are really going to be doing some good for a good cause. And I'm *shocked* at the gen story going so high. I was hoping to maybe get 40 or 50 off that.
I knew I couldn't offer anything new because I just don't have the time right now to get anything done, and I hate promising and not delivering. I hate it when RL intrudes on my fandom life:)
I think the people who offer to write fic to order are very, very brave!
And I was hoping that you would answer one of my challenges on that special auction page. It was for 300-500 words ficlets. VIrgin JIm bottom and the other one, Bossy blair. Think about it. They're short. LOL I'm such a fic slut. (sigh)
I would if I thought there were 300 words in me LOL! I seem to have run dry when it comes to creativity lately. I'm trying to put the last couple of lines to a Stargate story I started about 4yrs ago, and failing miserably! I couldn't even finish an Oz *drabble*, 100 skinny little words. *sigh* The old mutt has finally burned out:)
Oh say it ain't so. I can't believe that you are finished for good. So I prefer to think of it as a well needed rest. The fire is still there, you just have a lower flame these days. :)
I forgot to mention how great it was seeing your work up for the auction. And it seems to be doing well too. Wait until this week and they'll go crazy. I was bidding on it too, but they went to high for me. LOL I hate being poor. (grin)
I hope all the items make money for such a worthy cause, but I must confess to finding some of the listings downright confusing. I think it's because my brain refuses to retain the info I've read on the Moonridge site, so when I get to the auction, I can't remember what the hell the item is, or who did it LOL! I fear that brain leakage has occurred, big time:)
