13. It’s International School Meals Day. Did you ever have school meals, and what dish still sticks in your memory if you did?
Yes, and the one that stood out was Fridays, when we had fish sticks. Yes, it was catholic school. To this day, I can't eat fish sticks. They're so gross.
How about you?

Date: 2026-03-13 09:59 am (UTC)My memories of school lunches were also bad except for the puddings. They did very good traditional English suet puddings. But I was traumatized by their feeding us liver and onions. The liver had massive blood vessels in it - just these big chewy tubes. Ew! I'm a vegetarian now :)

Date: 2026-03-13 04:27 pm (UTC)The school meal that stuck out for me was some kind of Ploughman's Lunch. There was a small roll, ham, cheese. lettuce, sweetcorn, pickled onion. It made a nice change from all the cooked stuff in sauce like shepherds pie. I think we might also have had alphabetti spaghetti for one meal but I was very little so I can't remember. And at play time we used to have bottles of milk with a red and white striped straw. Happy days!
