Snowflake Challenge 2024 #1

Hi, I'm PattRose. I usually read and write in the Sentinel Fandom but also enjoy other fandoms. I even try reading in fandoms I'm not familiar with.

I'm 73 years young and have been reading and writing fan fiction for about 25 years or more. It's hard to keep track. I'm always looking for something new to read. I love to read, anything.

I have written to four or five different people on the snowflake Challenge and believe me that took a lot for me to do. I'm very shy with people I don't know well. But at least I'm trying.

I belong to Dreamwidth's Fandom Empire, where I have found a place where I feel like I belong. They have new challenges every three or four months. I love it there. People are so nice and that's good.

I am retired and volunteer at a group home for Developmentally Disabled Adults, where I have more fun that a person should. They are wonderful and it's a joy to spend time with them. I bake and cook for them, play games and just talk and visit with them. They always make my days sunnier.

I need to know more about this. Low-key/Low-pressure? I love being part of challenge-focused communities, though I'm not always one to take part if it's super busy.

You should try it. It's so much fun. I've been in two of the challenges so far and starting a third one on January 14th. Can't wait for it. :) And yes, we have known each other for a long, long while. Hugs, Patt

Good for you, Patt! I give you so much credit for your enthusiasm. I didn't do much writing in 2023, but I'm hoping that might have been due to the move. This year I've got the JMS 14th anniversary submission I'm working on (16k so far) and another story I'm basing on Leslie Gore's song Maybe I Know. Beyond that, we'll just have to see. :-)

It looks great! I don't know how prisca keeps coming up with so many different kinds of fun. I wasn't part of fandom-empire last January, but I'm enjoying looking back through last year's prompt tables too!
