I haven't posted in awhile.
Aug. 5th, 2016 11:34 amFirst of all, I am having a blast working on the artwork part of the Sentinel Big Bang this year. I found out I can handle it and it's been great. Morgan has been able to rest her weary eyes and head. I hope her migraines get better and soon.
Sam is growing like a weed. This is week three of Fifth grade. She met some new girls down the street and is thrilled. She asked if I could make blond brownies to take to their house and meet the parents. I insist on meeting the parents before Sam is allowed to hang out at their house. I think I'm old fashioned, but that's my rule. Sam never fights it. (Thank God)
Yesterday was a bad day. I woke up with a fever, had it all day and night. 102.5 usually. Nothing was working to take it down. And the headache was a nightmare. I slept off and on all day long. Then I slept all night too. It's weird, I wasn't sick. Just headache and a fever. Today is a much better day but I decided I wasn't going to do much today other than bake blond brownies. LOL Such a slug, I am.
I've been doing a lot of writing and have two stories for next years Big Bang already. I'm such an overachiever. LOL Boy did I have fun writing them.
I have an Endoscopy about four weeks ago and I have a hiatus hernia and some inflammation in my esophagus. They have to try and figure that out.
Then I had a colonoscopy two days later and it had some alarming news to me. My regular doctor sent me a copy of the pathology report and it said that he saw signs of ischemia and also inflammation in the colon. Now normally this wouldn't mean much to me. but ischemia is sometimes a clogged artery and I'm having some issues. I have swelling and pain in my left leg and foot. Not my right, just my left leg. I have a really high sed rate and a very high CRP. The CRP sometimes tells a doctor that their might be blockage or something like that. So my doctor wanted to check all that out, but then he saw the results of the C and decided I probably need to see a vascular surgeon. I know I'm having fun. NOT! Has anyone had The test where they go down your artery and look for things clogged or problems of any kind? I see the specialist for my colonoscopy on the 9th. So we'll see what he says. My regular doctor said if he just brushes it off, I have to see another doctor. My doctor said he's worried about the results. Oh Joy.
Now on to some fun stuff. Sam has decided that she wants to do gymnastics, so I told her she has to show me she can practice every day and keep her grades up. Then we'll sign her up for gymnastics. Here are some pictures of her practicing. She's a riot. I love watching her.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
Hugs, Patt

Date: 2016-08-05 07:13 pm (UTC)My mom had a hiatal hernia and kept it under control mostly with anti acids to control reflux.
I've had a cardiac cath where they go through an artery in your groin to the heart, but never one where they looked the other way. It wasn't painful, just uncomfortable because I had to lie still afterward on my back for about 6 hours in case of bleeding. I don't know if it would be the same if they're looking for blockages in the leg. It's always fun....not, when they're shuffling you around to different doctors.
Good luck with all of it.
Sam looks like she's having a great time with the gymnastic practice. She's so flexible!!! I used to be that way when I was little about half a century ago. LOL.

Date: 2016-08-05 07:34 pm (UTC)And you're not the only overachiever - I've got two stories ready for next year too!
Good luck to Sam with the gymnastics. I was never that supple - I couldn't even touch my toes at that age without bending my knees.

Date: 2016-08-05 08:58 pm (UTC)I'll be fine, Sheila. I'm not too worried. I have good docs, so there is that.
I never could have done what she does every day with gymnastics. She's really flexible. :)

Date: 2016-08-06 12:33 pm (UTC)So sorry you're having health worries - and don't they all just come along at once? Grrr! My neighbour had the fishing about in the artery thing about two years ago - she said it wasn't a problem, except she got a bit bruised and sore, but not painful at all. And it saved her life too, so she was over the moon with having it done. Fingers crossed they sort you out quickly - I love that your doctor is so proactive too.
Sam is so bendy! And so pretty - better not tell her though *g*

Date: 2016-08-06 08:04 pm (UTC)I hope to have all the health issues done with quickly. I'm an easy patient. Sometimes when they draw my blood it takes four or five sticks. They always feel so bad and I tell them, "it's not your fault I have crappy veins." LOL

Date: 2016-08-08 12:17 pm (UTC)My husband had that test, they went in through his arm as they thought it would be easier. It didn't hurt, just a nuisances about the restrictions afterwards.
