How is everyone's month going?

I hope well. I haven't even thought about putting the tree up yet and don't know if I even will. But, I'm in a good mood and seem to be fine, so can't be more grateful than that. I hope all of you are doing just dandy. Fill me in on what you've been doing for Christmas so far.

I'm glad you're doing so well.

I've got the tree up and the place decorated. I got the cards mailed today. I gave my little dog a bath, and she's looking all set.

Fingers are crossed and it darn hard typing that way. LOL I've got to start getting in the spirit, we have an eight year old living with us. She probably wonders why we're not doing anything. Poor thing.

Not to complain, but after several weeks in and out of hospital, I'm having a severely difficult time medically. I am diabetic with leg infections and terrible lymphedemia which could end in amputation.

All prayers, etc. of any (positive) sort would be most appreciated.

OH MY God! YOu always think that things are not so great, until you hear from someone else how their life is. I'm so sorry that you're going through this. Now, I have a favor to ask. I want you to pray to Saint Anthony. He finds lost things and you need to find your good health again. I will be praying to Saint Anthony for you, also. But, you do it too. YOu will feel better just doing it six or seven times a day. And he'll help you come to terms with what you have to find. Stay brave and well, my friend. You will remain in my thoughts, never fear. Saint Anthony will help you through this, I promise.

Patt, I have a friend arriving tomorrow from Edmonton for 11 days; we're going to decorate my golf cart here in the park for the Santa Claus parade and two friends here will ride with us. We even have an old ghetto blaster to play Christmas CDs at full blast while we're rolling the parade. I don't have room for a traditional Christmas tree, but do have a little ceramic tree that my brother in law made years ago, so we'll get it out and set it up while sipping on eggnog sometime next week or weekend. We're going to see Mannheim Steamrollers Christmas show and the Ten Tenors (from Australia) Christmas show this weekend, and going to the coast for two nights to see Aly next Monday and Tuesday.

And, of course, I'll head back to the coast on 22 Dec, where Aly and I will watch the Newport Beach Parade of Lights boat parade to begin our Christmas week.

I'm still going to try to write something with Santa Jim and his black eye but with so much going on, I'm really not sure when I'll have time. Have only been here in the US for about a month and have had three other friends visit already, have been to the coast for Thanksgiving week, to spend time with Aly, and have been catching up with friends here in the park. I'm very, very lucky; aside from endless challenges with finances and upcoming surgery for more joint replacements (knee and two hips over the next couple years), life is a near constant joy.

And then we have Almost Human to make it just that much better!

My goodness, you sound swamped. :) This is a good thing. Staying busy over the holidays is a good thing. :) It sounds like a fun time at your park and then seeing Aly, tell her I said hello, and then going back to spend Christmas with her. She's very lucky she has you.

I can't wait for the next shows to be on Almost Human. I feel like they are just going to get better and better. I like it just fine, but this is just the beginning and you know they always grow somewhat.

Sheila doesn't really do Christmas. Even though it's been a holiday here since about 1960, I've never really accepted, adjusted to it as a holiday.

What I do sent out is ready to post, and I was meaning to sent the foreign items out today, but the weather today is so rough at the moment (bad when I was out with Bobbi at 5, a lot worse now) I don't think I'll risk the journey to the post office.

The forecast for today has been bad since about Monday, and last night I even got an email from my car insurance broker (!) giving advice on driving when there's a red alert issued. Unprecedented, and shows how bad it's expected to get.

I do have a small artificial tree that I bought after sone concentrated nagging from a friend but I doubt I'll put it up before the 20th at the earliest.

Sounds somewhat like me. LOL My daughter in Texas always says she has to drag me through December, kicking and screaming. I've always been this way. Don't know why. *grin*

Hope the weather doesn't get too bad for you, Sheila. Good thoughts coming your way. It's going to be cold, cold, cold, here too. 50s for the entire week. We aren't prepared.

I think it's past its worst here - still windy, but dry.

We lost broadband for a while - there was one flash of lightning, one rumble of thunder, Bobbi ended up half under a small table and stayed there for quite a while... Seems to be a tree down on the road behind us - two Forestry vehicles and several men up there, but from the house we couldn't see exactly what had happened.

Temps in the 50s? That's not too bad, but of course I'm a lot further north - around 58, 59 north. We're currently at 43F though with the wind it feels colder.

It's 46 here now and it's only going on 7 at night. So, tonight will be good and cold. Oh my Gosh. I'm not ready for cold. Brrrrr. At least we have no wind.

A dry cold without wind isn't too bad. It's the wind that's the killer.
