Update
I'm feeling much better. Thank you to everyone that asked about me.

I'm feeling a little puny today. I ache everywhere and am sick to my stomach, so I figure I have the flu. It's been so long since I had it, that I'm not sure. LOL After I took Vincent to work this morning, I came back home and slept for four hours. BORING! Didn't accomplish much today at all. I finished laundry for the boys and that was it. I have this new rule that if they do certain things for me to help out around the house, I in turn will do their laundry all week long. They like that because they hate doing laundry. LOL So it works out pretty well. I could just leave it for them, but I have to yell at them and get after them to do it, I figure why not get something out of it. Like them doing things I hate to do. LOL I don't mind laundry.

I watched Only The Lonely today with John Candy. I don't mean I watched it with him. LOL I wasn't that sick. I mean the movie with John Candy in it. I had forgotten how much I disliked his Mother in that film. She was a bitch. A bigot bitch, to boot. I then had to watch Uncle Buck to get in a good mood again. I loved John Candy, he was one of my favorite things from Canada. LOL Tomorrow, I'm going to watch STripes and Summer Rental just to make me laugh.

Speaking of movies, does anyone have a movie that makes them laugh out loud that they could tell me about? I'm looking for new movies to rent from Net Flix. I love a good comedy and have some on the list already, but could use some good suggestions. Thanks.

I hope everyone is feeling all right and having a good week so far.

Be well, everyone.

Hugs, Patt

I hope you feel better soon!

Movie recommendation--if you like musicals you might like A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum...as long as you're not too sensitive about gender issues (it's from the early 1960s, so from a different era).

I loved that movie. I haven't seen it in years and years. Thanks for reminding me. :)

I'm sure I'll feel better in the next day or two. Thanks for the kind wishes.

There aren't many movies that make me laugh out loud, but have you ever seen the British series, FAWLTY TOWERS? It's really funny. It's got John Cleese of Monty Python as Basil Fawlty running a hotel. It's a bit bawldy but it always makes me smile.

I loved this series. It does make me laugh out loud. I'll have to add that to my list. I haven't seen that in years either. :) Thanks for reminding me.

Another really funny British series is JEEVES AND WOOSTER with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Frye. It's based on the Jeeves and Wooster of PG Wodehouse and it's one of those things that just makes you laugh because Bertie Wooster played by Laurie is such a hoot. It's out on DVD, so Netflix might have it.

I just added Season 1 to my Queque. We'll see if I like it. I don't like House, because I don't like his character. I know, I'm one of few that doesn't like that show. I also don't care for Grey's Anatomy and my son thinks we're insane for not watching it. LOL

I liked the first season of HOUSE, but this year, he's just gone over the top with the absolute evil way he treats people. First season they at least portrayed him as sympathetic character by showing why he was such a grouch. This year it was far worse. The Hugh Laurie of Jeeves and Wooster is a whole different person. *g*

As for Grey's Anatomy, I do love that show, mainly because Sandra Oh's on it. I adore her and the guy who plays her boyfriend Dr. Burke. Plus, I just think the dialogue is very witty. It's got comedy/drama/great characters. I mean, it's one of the few shows on that has 3 black main characters along with an Korean woman. You don't find that kind of diversity very often.

I love Sandra Oh, also. I should give that show another chance and see if it appeals to me this time. It's on Sunday's, right? See, I don't even know when it's on. The two people I wasn't crazy about were Grey and the married Doctor who she sleeps with. I only watched it twice and I wasn't impressed, but then I didn't see Sandra Oh on it much at all. She's probably in some of them a lot more than others.

Meredith and Derek are my two least favorite characters. I know they're leads and there's a lot of press about them, but they suck, IMO. Though to be fair, the first season, Meredith didn't know he was married. However, at the start of the second she did, but he kept stringing her along. He's a dick and one of my all time least fave characters of any show. I like him even less than villians because of the way he cheats on his wife and treats Meredith.

Still, it's the other storylines that intrigue me the most.

Unfortunately, they're moving it to Thursdays opposite CSI and Supernatural, so it's tough. I mean, the whole fucking week goes by with nothing to watch and they pile on three shows at the same time. Makes me crazy because I can only record two.

Sandra Oh's character Christina is very complex and I just love how she relates to all the other characters and especially Burke. Then there's George who you want to just pet and take care of and Izzy, who's a complete and utter mess. When she fell for a heart patient named Denny, your heart just broke.

The show's not really about medicine so much as relationships and how people cope with serious situations. It's a night time soap, but I'm seriously addicted.

I hope you're feeling a little better today, Patt. I don't mind doing the laundry either. I'd much rather do that than dust or vacuum. :-P

Last night I was transferring a movie I'd taped to DVD and found myself laughing out loud over some of the parts, House II: The Second Story. John Ratzenberger was such a hoot in that.

There are very few movies that I LOL over though. Now if I could just find my copy of Tremors II: Aftershocks.

Tremors 1 made me laugh out loud. I loved the characters. LOL I've never seen House2, is it supposed to be a drama? LOL Sometimes those are the funniest ones.

I still haven't seen Tremors 1. House II is a comedy/horror flick. Fortunately it wasn't too scary, because I couldn't have watched it then. :-P

I thought The Trip was funny. Turned out it was supposed to be a serious movie. (this is not a recommendation, unless you like Peter Fonda and LSD movies.)

I'll put it on my list. I've not seen movies with Peter Fonda in them in years. Check out Tremors 1, it's a hoot. Now I have to go and add it to my list, because I want to see it again. :)

I forgot to mention that Tremors has Fred Ward, Kevin Bacon and Reba McIntyer in it. God, they were funny. :)
