My Moonridge Auction ficlets
Jun. 18th, 2006 09:00 pmI got my prompt words for both sets of ficlets and finished them quickly. I did art for them and html'd for the winners. I was so excited. I sent them off and the first winner loved them all and was happy with them. The second winner was happy to a point since she doesn't really read slash, she was a little disappointed. WHAT???? It was listed under the slash stories for the auction. *sigh* I just can't believe that happened. Mind you, I can change everything in the stories, but do I really want to? I'm not sure I do. It was posted clearly, so I just took it for granted that the person that bought it would want slash. Mind you, I used very easy going slash. There was no sex, but there was kissing and talk of love. *sighing again*
Now I have a question to anyone that reads this post, do you think I should re-do them over again and rewrite the whole things? I just don't want anyone to be disappointed, but at the same time, I don't know if I feel right about changing something that was slash. I don't know what to do.
I hope to hear from a few of you to get other opinions.
Hugs, Patt
UPDATE
I got a nice email from her and she was so nice that I went ahead and made a second set of stories up. Those ones were gen. It really wasn't that hard to do. And I knew that it would make this woman feel much better. So, I have two sets of stories now. :) Just thought I would let you know.

Date: 2006-06-19 12:02 pm (UTC)If your offering was clearly labeled slash, I don't think you have any responsibility to change it. Nor, if you're donating next year, should you have to clarify that, even though your story/art is listed under 'slash,' it is not a trick question, and it is, in fact, slash.
And the fact that you completed the stories and artwork so soon after the conclusion of Moonridge should have the winner exceedingly grateful.
Just my $.02.

Date: 2006-06-19 08:33 pm (UTC)If I were you I would not change the stories from slash. After all it was clear in the auction what they were, so leave them as they are.
