When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up and why?

I wanted to work for the Peace Corps. That’s all I could think about in High School. I didn’t realize it was like camping, which I don’t do. I realized I don’t like roughing it in the wild. Hubby and I got married very young and started our family. So, instead of PC, I got a job at obgyn office and loved it. I was disappointed in myself for a few years. But I learned to live with my decision. 😁

Every year hubby would ask me if I wanted to go camping. I gave him a look that said ‘I’ll kill you first’. The look always made him laugh. I would even laugh afterwards. When we were in our 50s, we rented a very nice travel trailer. It was okay but still don’t want to camp.

I'm with you on camping, it's awful.

I'm very different on camping. I love it. Not the RV camping, but tents, camp fire cooking/baking, showering in the trees. That's how I grew up.

My husband and children won't indulge that whim of mine.

I wanted to be a teacher... And in a way I was. My girls refused to read. No matter what book was tried. So, I cheated… kinda. I got them interested in an anime... Then switched from dubbed to subbed. If they wanted to know what was going on, they had to read. They learned how to read and speak some Japanese.

I have a question for you: what habit do you have that doesn't bother you, but bothers those around you?

Mine, I tend to slip out of English and into: Spanish, French, German or Japanese depending on the situation. (No, I'm not fluent in all of them. I know just enough to get me into trouble.)
