My paternal grandfather had a pen pal in Australia and they'd met through belonging to muzzleloader shooting clubs. At one point his pen pal had sent him a drawstring bag for holding shot (lead balls) made out of kangaroo skin. This unprompted lore drop was just so I could tell you when I hear Australia, the first thing I think of is "kangaroo ball bag," without it being too weird. Lol.

(The next things would be sharks, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the ginger beer that sometimes shows up at the discount grocery, and the weird licorice they used to make me try to push at one of old jobs.)

I love their soft black licorice. Love, love, love it. I didn't think of sharks, duh. That's a cool story about the kangaroo ball bag. LOL Priscilla Queen of the Desert is a fave of mine too. Your list was much better than mine. Especially about your grandpa's story.

Did you hate the black and red licorice?

I get why people like the licorice, but I am more of a hard candy person (with the giant exception of gummy bears). I watch too much shark week XD LOL thanks. It's a story I cannot tell without context though. Priscilla forever!

Whatever brand we were selling (this was in 2012 or 2013 and I had never seen it before or since) didn't just come in red or black, it also had 2 or 3 fruit flavors. I just remember trying whatever green was and thinking, "no thank you."
