Has anyone been on the Alaskan Cruise? We're going on May 29th-June 4th. It leaves out of Seattle and ends back up in Seattle, also. We're going a day early and leaving a day after the ship docks so we can see a little bit of Seattle. We've never been and have always wanted to see it. :) We're looking over the excursions and don't have a clue yet. We're hoping some of you have gone on a cruise and have some letters of interest. Did I mention that we not only have a room with a balcony, but it's a suite. It's going to be our 45th Anniversary. :) We're so looking forward to this. :) This is what our room will look like.

Have a wonderful time, Patt!

The suite looks gorgeous. Did they show what they bathroom looks like, or is it just a bit larger than the bathrooms the peons get in their cabins?

My sister-in-law went on an Alaskan cruise a few years ago. I remember she and her husband went fishing for salmon. They freeze it for you and ship it back to your house. I also think they went on a glacier. She's away right now. I'll ask when she gets home on Monday.

My parents just got back from one for their 55th wedding anniversary. Their advice was, take allll the excursions you can! The whales, the eagles, the glaciers, any and all!! They are very expensive but make it worth going. Don't stay on the boat! except in Glacier Bay,,, the ship did a 380 in that and they got lots of good pictures just from that. See if you can go see polar bears because that was one thing mom wanted to do that they couldn't find. They LOVED it and I think would go back in a heart beat. I hope you have a GREAT time! Hugs!!

Nice! I know you will enjoy it.

When we were in Seward a cruise ship came up the channel and docked. I think I have a picture of dad with the ship in the background. Good time of year for you to go!

Whale, seal, polar bear watching which is a big thing for both of us. We jusst can't decide which one, yet. There are like four of them. Then one of the priciest ones is a train ride through the mountains of Juno and they stop at a gold mine where you pan for gold and eat grilled salmon for lunch. I've read up on it and it sounds wonderful. And the last one I have in mind is a castle in Canada. I know, right? Who wants to see a castle? I guess we do. Then there is a hop on hop off bus that you can see everything in town. I like this idea a lot. I'm thinking there is one more thing, but I can't remember right now. It sounds like a great time.

I forgot to answer the entire thing. Sorry. The bathroom is larger and has a tub in it. :) Isn't that funny? Doesn't seem like there would be room, but there is one. I think it's going to be a lot different then the last cruises we went on. This suite is a lot bigger. And we've never had a balcony. I've heard once you have one, you're spoiled for life. LOL

Whale watching sounds great is it the Kenai Fiords? or the other can't remember right now. Juneau is beautiful any time of year, so I've been told. like the large majority of Alaskans Ive never actually been to the State Capitol.lol
Castles and pyramids always catch my attention!
Where does your ship dock in AK?
