He only suffered for about two days, really. And he was pretty much out of it. Might have been us suffering more than him. It was very quick. All eight of his children were there to help him get through it and his wife, my mom of 68 years.

Ah, well, the stories are still wonderful; now it's time to pass them along to children and grandchildren and great grand children. I know it's hard. My Dad died 25 years ago so I understand. I'm sure you're celebrating your Dad's great life with laughter and joy as much as you're missing him. The grief does abate in time ....

I'm glad you had such a great relationship with your Dad, and have only really good memories.

I've been away from LJ for quite awhile so I'm just now reading this. I'm sorry about your dad. It's comforting, isn't it, to know he's in a better place? But it still hurts, all the same! {{Patt}}

Yes, it still hurts, but he went so quickly and easily, which a lot of people don't get to do. They suffer. It was so quick that it threw us into shock. We all miss him, but are glad he doesn't have to suffer. Thank you so much for your kind words.
