I finished my Big Bang story...

and it's 22,000 words. Geeze, I never meant for it to be that long. Now, I get to go over it and find all of the mistakes, which are tons of them, I'm sure. THen off to beta land. Woo Hoo. I really didn't think I would finish it in time. Oh, I just remembered something, I might not have liked where I left it off and I might have to add more. Damn it. I guess I'm not done. I was hoping. LOL

Keep in mind, it still has to go through three betas. Believe me, I need three. Then I have to fix everything and do rewrites, so I'm probably looking at another two or three months. I'm very anal about deadlines, so this is pushing it for me. LOL But I actually did finish tonight and sent it to first beta. I'm excited to see the changes that will have to be made.

Hey, I like to be finished a story in loads of time, but you're way ahead of me, and double my current word count! (And yes, I'd like to be, if not finished at least within sight of the finishing line before sign-ups.)

See, I take after you, Sheila. :) I finally finished it tonight, but like I said above, it still have to be fixed after the beta work comes back. Kelly and Kerensa are going to do the first two, are you up for the third one? I like to be really careful. If you're still writing, I could understand you not having time. If that's the case, then I just need to round up the third one.

It'll probably be a good two weeks or more before it's ready for the third beta. I'm anxious for you to read it and give me your opinion. I liked it, but that doesn't always mean anything. (grin)

I know, it's often hard for someone to judge her own story. My personal favourite among my own stories has had far fewer hits than some I don't consider as good... but that obviously appeal more to readers.

A Safe Harbor. It was my personal response to all the 'Guides are second class citizens' stories around. I've read one or two 'Sentinels are second class citizens' ones now, and I mostly like them, but at the time I wrote Safe Harbor I hadn't seen any others.

It takes me hours just to write a tiny piece and even then it sucks imo. That's not to say I won't keep trying to finish the one I started for it though. I guess time will tell. I definitely sign up for the art though.
