pattroseMy son designed a tattoo for me and put it on my wrist. Yes, I'm 60 years old and got a tattoo. LOL I love it and it makes me remember why I love being married to my hubby all over again. He got all happy when he saw it and said, we have to stay together now. LOL We'll be celebrating our 43rd anniversary and consider ourselves quite lucky. I was going to just put best friends inside the heart formed from the dolphins, but decided on Rodney at the last minute. THe picture doesn't do it justice, my camera sucks. But at least you get an idea. :) If you wonder if those are age spots on my wrist, they aren't. THey are my tons of freckles that I have.

Date: 2012-09-30 04:31 am (UTC)It requires some explanation. It was designed for me by a fanfriend who is an artist; I'd tell her what I wanted and she'd make it happen. Magic! She and I and two other friends all got tattooed on the same day last September. Sing is inspired by the My Chemical Romance song of the same name (the day after we were tattooed we all saw them in concert for the first time) and the word and the song has become code for a lot of stuff that basically boils down to living your life as if you're singing, believing in yourself and others, speaking up, being unafraid. For me personally it's who I am, what I do, how I want to live. It's in the heart because I always sing from the heart, and the corner of the heart is exploding with love, which was inspired by the song Summertime. The Celtic looking web is a mashup of all four of our initials which stands not just for the four of us but all the people I love. And the spider is a symbol from the album Danger Days which, in the worldbuilding of the album, is a symbol of resistance. With everything going on in the world I'm really happy to have it on my skin even though it's the one thing hardly anyone understands.
