Does anyone read Janet Evanovich novels?

Her first Stephanie Plum novel is being made into a movie. I don't think the cast choices so far are that great, but on the other hand, I really like the cast so far. I know, it makes no sense. I've read all of the books and Stephanie Plum is not Katherine Heigl, but that's who they choose. I figure if they color her hair it might help to picture her as Stephanie. But what blew me away was Jason O'Mara is going to play Joe Morelli. (Imagine an Irishman play an Italian. He's got blue eyes for crying out loud.) And the guy that is going to play Vinnie is named, Patrick Fischler. I recognize him, but not from anything to speak of. I loved the book. I've read it like ten times, so I'll watch the movie when it comes out.

Playing 'who would you have as Ranger etc' is a fun game but I never thought they'd cast it for real! I think the books have gone downhill but I adore the first few and own them all.

I totally agree with you. I actually haven't every "read" one, I listen to them all as audio books and I love them that way. But they're getting stale, I think

They were quite gritty and tense at first with some genuine sexual tension going on but JE went the route of wacky!fun! and it got past the point where I could swallow it. Too many exploding cars and eccentric individuals. Too many recycled plots.

I don't like those books much. I think she tries too hard to be witty and it fails for me.

Also, I can't stand Jason O'Mara. There's just something about him that's a huge turnoff. I think he's unattractive and his acting is pretty bad, too. That's why I was so disappointed when they cast him in the US version of Life On Mars. I doubt the show would've worked with a better casting, since most US versions of UK shows fail with some exceptions, but I think O'Mara was what killed it.

I do like the other two actors, but I can't see Katherine Heigl as Plum. However, Heigl's hot right now so I guess they figured, who cares if it's a miscast?

Wow have they missed the boat...... Ranger's not to bad, but not exactly how I pictured him. The other two? Hell no. Any word on who will play Lula? Surely they can get that one right.

No,they're just starting the casting. So I'm going to keep watching to see who else is listed. :) I'm so excited.
