When I get depressed, I try to count my blessings, distract myself with friends or activities I like to do, listen to favorite music, watch favorite shows. Or I get out of the house, do something. Otherwise, I just mope and mope.
This winter was a bad one, so I know what it's like to feel like you can't breathe without crying or putting your head under a pillow.

Date: 2010-05-27 12:16 pm (UTC)What I found helped, a few months ago when I was a bit down for no obvious reason, was passiflora, if you have anywhere near you that sells herbal stuff.

Date: 2010-05-27 03:45 pm (UTC)Example: Our house is a pigsty and with a hairy dog, teenaged kids (and one being a BOY), plus a messy hubby....I couldn't keep up, and the mess was depressing me. (Also getting it cleaned up stressed me out because it would get wrecked again before I could turn around)
The solution we came up with was that I picked three areas of the house that had the most impact on me, and that I had the most control over. For the next few years, I'm focusing on keeping those areas nice and clean and I'm not going to worry about the rest much. It's made a HUGE difference.
