Some bad news...

My sister called me tonight and sounded upset and I immediately got upset too because I knew she had bad news. Her 30 year old daughter had breast cancer and they did the surgery almost two weeks ago. She was doing great, but she saw the doctor today and there is more cancer. So there will be more surgery. Jessica said that this time she might take me up on the offer of staying with her and helping her out.(She lives in New Mexico, and I live in Arizona) Poor thing, she's so scared this time. She was last time, but more so this time she said. Mary (My sister) will be going to the next appointment with Jessica and we'll see what they suggest this time. Breast cancer is so dreadful. Almost everyone you talk to knows someone that has it or has had it. (sigh)

I know how awful it can be to have someone with that dreaded disease. My mom, my aunts, and friends have had it. They're doing a lot better with treatment, so there is hope that they can do something to stop it.

Thanks, Grey. She's going to need all of the hugs she can get. She's really strong and a fighter, so we don't have any worries about her not making it, we just hate to see her have to go through all of this surgery again. She'll probably start a support group in her area where she lives. She's just that type of girl. She lives in a very small town outside of ALbuquerque, New Mexico. But there may be one already. Like I said, almost everyone knows someone that has gone through this.

If they do more surgery, they'll likely be doing chemo and/or raditation, too. It will be all very draining for her. I hope she does get a support group. I know that it helps a lot of people going through it. Friends and family are gold during this time, but there's something about being able to talk to others who have the same thing going on.

This is what I told her tonight. We can't even begin to know how she feels. I told Mary she needs a support group too, for mother's of survivors. She said she was going to look for one.

She's already had three opinions, so now we just have to see what the best option is. It's so shocking when you hear that it's one of your own family. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

Yes, I knew you would understand more then anyone else. She's somewhat in shock right now, but she'll come around like she did last time. It just took her by surprise. Thanks for the hugs.
