Crunchy questions

Have you ever been to a house (or another place) that was actually said to be haunted? Did anything strange happen there?

I went to a haunted house one night for Halloween. They had all sorts of things jumped out to scare you, but there was no ghostlike happenings .

I’ve never been anywhere, where I can say I saw, sensed, or heard a ghost. I wish I would have. I think it would be wonderful.

I've experienced quite a few ghostly happenings, including a ghost appearing in my bedroom one night and having a conversation with me, he was angry** that he was dead but I managed to calm him down, he went away happy. And another time a hooded figure appeared by my bed, I didn't feel frightened, then it turned out my elderly neighbour had died that very moment. And my deceased dad appeared in my bedroom on his birthday when I was feeding my newborn daughter. I think he wanted to meet her. And there have been other events too.

There's lots of things we don't understand in the world.

I'm sure there are a lot of things we don't understand. I've never been afraid of the dead. I imagine they're great to have contact with.

The first ghost certainly was, he hung around for a few years and helped me a lot with various things e.g. finding lost items. I think he's moved on now, he's content.

Never saw my dad again though.

Also during the pandemic, as I live in a village that is thousands of years old, I could hear the inhabitants who lived through various plagues before whispering and trying to reassure us, they were concerned.

I'm sure I sound like a complete loon but these things happened.

I've never seen a ghost either. The college where I did my BA had a very old house on campus which was supposed to be haunted, but I never saw anything.

I've never seen a ghost but I did have a really weird experience once. Years ago when I was a 18-19 I was visiting an old stately home in the UK. We were in a tourist group with a guide leading us. Everyone happy and interested, looking and commenting on things. We came to a long gallery about 15-20 feet across, walls lined with old paintings. There was a bored guard sitting at a desk about ten feet down the gallery and our guide was chatting away, leading everyone across to the doors on the other side.

As soon as I stepped into that gallery every hair on the back of my neck stood on end and I was terrified. The sensation disappeared as soon as I stepped through the doors opposite. No one else felt anything. Even weirder. My mind has completely blanked where we had gone that day whereas you would think I would remember some place that had frightened me so badly.
