2025 Question a day

5.    In the UK, tonight is the 12th night after Christmas and the date the Christmas decorations are taken down (or bad luck will enter your home!). If you have decorated for the holiday period, when do you pack them away again?

We don’t decorate much but what little we did have out is now packed a way. No bad luck for us. Or are they saying you must take them down on the 4th of January? Just what we need, bad luck.

How has your January been going? Anyone have a news to share?

Aqui costumamos montar a árvore em 1° de dezembro e desmontamos só quando chega a Festa de Reis e eu confesso jamais lembro que dia é, então qualquer momento em janeiro basta. No entanto esse ano por motivos de defeito na árvore plástica tive que guardar ela na metade do mês passado o que deixou minha sobrinha bem triste pois ela ama o Natal.

I didn't decorate or celebrate, so thankfully no decorations to take down! I always hated that part of the process. It's always such a chore.

Boy are you right or what? We put on a small ceramic tree that’s darling and that’s all. I’m not that crazy about Christmas. I like baking and cooking for the holidays.

My decorations never made it up this year. I was so focused on Advent calendars that I forgot about it, lol. January has been so good, so far. Crossing my fingers it stays that way!

I would rather do the advent calendars any day. Thanks for the entertainment.

The custom is to pack them away by the 12th night after Christmas (Christmas Day being the first day of Christmas). So it’s the night of the 5th Jan.

And now I know why I have such bad luck sometimes.
