For three months, Arizona has had 70s and 80s weather instead of winter, and today I had plans with my friends KC and Margaret and wouldn't you know that we got rain all day long and only in the 40s. Talk about cold, we all went into shock. Now here is the best part of having great friends. They still came up and we had a wonderful time. First we visited for a short while, then went to lunch and on to the movie to see 16 Blocks. It was very good, we all liked it alot. Very different role for Bruce Willis. :) Then we did some shopping and Margaret bought me three movies. KC bought me a walking stick, a Dell Shannon book and three movies from Amazon. :) We ended up at the house and we chatted while I copied a tape for the girls of Wilby wonderful and then it was time for them to leave. I was sad. It was so good to see them. I can't wait until we do it again in July for Margaret's birthday. :)

I just wanted to share my wonderful day with anyone that reads this. I had a blast. It's truly wonderful to be blessed with good friends. :)

Hugs, Patt

PS: In case anyone wants to know what movies I got, here is the list:
The First Wives Club
The Negotiator
Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Starman
Uncle Buck
Guarding Tess

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept,And the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.

It rained all the way to Tucson! 180-something days with no rain, and Mother Nature chooses THIS DAY to sock it to us! LOL We got a little lost on the way home because of road closures, but we made it. We stopped at Olive Garden for dinner which was really good. KC had fun chatting up the waiter, an actor. So okay, about time for bed.

Patt! I had a great day, and I know KC did too, and I hope you enjoyed your day! I'm glad I waited to get your present so you could actually choose what you wanted. That was a good deal!

Okay, I'm about to fall asleep, I better sign off!

Love & huggies!
Margaret

Sounds like a great way to spend the day despite the bad weather. Glad it was a good one.

It's great to hear you had a good day. I always enjoy watching The First Wives Club and Guarding Tess(watched it a day ago or so)but haven't really watched the others.

We had some rain and hail yesterday. My husband thinks of snow as a four letter word so he wasn't to happy with the weather. I know someone who is getting married in two weeks and she is worried that this will be the weather.

Yay! Glad it was nice, if rainy!

Oh, man! That does suck...doesn't it figure it would crap out on the weather just on your birthday. That sounds like something that would happen to me!

However, despite the cold and wetness, it sounds like you, Margaret, and KC had a fun time, which is lovely to hear. Watching 16 Blocks sounds like a fantastic way to spend the afternoon, and it's nice to know you thought it was good. I haven't heard much on it yet, but I'll have to keep it in mind the next time I go to the theater.

Starman?!? Geez, if it's the movie I think it is, I loved it as a kid. Makes me want to go right out and buy it!

*hugs* I'm happy you had a nice birthday, Patt, and I hope the weather starts to warm up for you.

Yes, we had a wonderful time. :)

Starman is the movie with Jeff Bridges as the alien and it's heartbreakingly wonderful. It's one of my all time faves. Right up there with Fearless. (Another Jeff Bridges movie.)
