Our 26 year old grandson works 3-11:00, so wasn't surprised when he called at 12:30. It didn't even sound like him. He was almost in tears as he told me how bad his back was. He was stuck in bed for almost two hours, trying to get up. He has a bad disc, so this wasn't a big surprise. He asked me to come over and sit with him for awhile in case it got worse. I told him I would be there in a flash. I took some muscle relaxers with me, non-habit forming ones and made him a nice lunch and off I went. He lives about 20 minutes away from us, so when I got there I tried the door and he smiled when I walked in. He was lying on the sofa, looking half dead. Poor thing. I got him a cold drink, first of all to take some pills with. Then I went in and heated his lunch up and made him eat some. Then while he rested, I cleaned his kitchen and his bathroom. Since he can't bend, I figured I would help him out. Almost two hours later, I had his entire apartment looking great. :) He called for me and I went rushing in there and he said, "I wanted you to sit with me, not clean my house." So, then I did just that. We watched Netflix until 7:00 tonight when I left. (After of course making him dinner before I left and making him promise he would call if he got worse.) Actually aside from the pain, I think he enjoyed just hanging out with me. :) I know I did him. He's a great young man and I'm very proud of him and very lucky to call him ours.

Hugs,

Patt

What a great grandma!

I hope Vincent is feeling better. Back issues suck canal water.

Hugs to you both.

I hope today is better for him. Poor thing. He's so frustrated. He doesn't make a good sick person. He just doesn't have time for it in his mind. :) Poor baby. Thanks for the well wishes.

Poor Vincent. A bad back is a horrible thing, and it sounds like it causes him a lot of pain. I hope he's feeling better soon!

I'm glad you were there for him. Did he have a heating pad? I know when my back goes out, that helps. Poor guy. That's just a miserable kind of pain.

He didn't call me this morning, so that means he went to work. He just called and said he can't afford to miss any more work. So he's working even though he doesn't feel great. Poor thing. He's so disgusted with himself over having such a weak back. Thank you for the well wishes.

I went and bought him one, Grey. And he said it felt so good on his poor back. But I just talked to him and he's still bad, but can't miss work, so he's going in. *sigh* He said, "Things will be fine, Grandma, don't worry so much." LOL

I sure hope he'll be okay. That's a rough thing, needing to work, but being in pain.
