My dad called and asked me if I could come and help out for a few weeks. He's really tired from the radiation treatments, so I'm leaving Saturday for their home in New Mexico and staying three weeks. I will still be around because in the evenings, they go to bed early and I'll have my laptop. LOL He has a doctors appointment while I'm there, so we'll see if the radiation did any good or not. Keep your fingers crossed. Other then being tired, I don't think he has any complaints. Not bad for an 87 almost 88 year old with lung cancer. I've been very lucky to have them as long as I have and I know I'm blessed. We're going to celebrate his birthday a month early while I'm there. That'll be nice.

Hugs, Patt

he is doing amazingly well. The treatment really takes it out of anyone far less someone of his years. I think its a lovely idea to celebrate his birthday while you are there with them. Have a lovely visit

Thank you, Nicci. I really enjoy being with him. He's a hoot. My mom, poor dear, is going downhill faster then ever, so I want to spend as much time with her too. Dementia is an awful thing. But we all make the best of it, including her. She's a trooper, too.

Hugs, Patt

I hope your visit goes well and that you make some more wonderful memories of good times with both of them. Goes without saying that I hope the treatments have been effective.

Thank you, Grey. We don't expect it to have taken it away, but making it smaller would give him a few more years with us. He always says he's ready to go, but we're not ready. It's the ones that are left behind that have a hard time dealing. I'm praying for good news.

Day late!

Patt hope things go well. You'll have fun planning the birthday. And I know my parents really enjoyed watching the preparations whenever I was cooking and creating things for birthdays, etc.
