have Adobe Photoshop 6.0? I need an instruction manual, I am way too stupid to figure this all out. It came with nothing. *sigh* What I'm looking to learn is blending one photo into another. I've been trying this for six days. I think its a lost cause, what do you all think? Help, anyone????

PS: I just went to Borders online and ordered a Photoshop for dummies and I think I'll do pretty good with that. Hubster said he would help me learn the darn thing. LOL He's so cute. :)

Could you create a new layer, paste the second image in and then tweak the opacity and move them around? Or create a blank and put both images in on separate layers and play with the eraser?

I am just too dumb for it. That's all there is to it. I didn't understand one thing you wrote about. LOL Thanks, but I think I need to find a book for dummies that walks you through it one part at a time.
Hugs, Patt

I have version 7, so maybe it's not the same? Basically, you create a layer and paste a picture onto it; you can have dozens of them. Then you can move them around as if you had actual pictures and were overlapping them on your desk. It's fun to play with.

Just dive in and try and I bet you'll get the hang of it; happy to help, although I'm still at a very ABC level myself; Eleanor (13) is he whizzkid ::g::

I follow tutorials from others. You might check out [livejournal.com profile] coffeeforcloser's Supernatural tutorial. http://community.livejournal.com/coffeeforcloser/2278.html#cutid1

Might not be exactly what you have program wise but you could at least get some helpful ideas.

Google is your friend. ; )

I'm not giving up. I wish I had her here to show me how to do it. I'm more inclined to learn things when people show me how, instead of telling me how.I'm weird, I know. Thanks, hon.

Don't feel dumb. I've tried Photoshop several times and got lost. Plus, it makes my computer run very slow. It's a huge program.

I think the instructions are very unclear. It's like using a different language. I'm usually pretty good at reading the help or tutorials and figuring things out. Not with Photoshop.

I didn't understand a thing [livejournal.com profile] janedavitt said, either. *g*

So, again, don't feel bad.

Uhm, Patt... I'm awfully sorry, I have counter question, that is - between my unfortunate circumstances this month and work deadline I plainly forgot about MM deadline and unfinished story. Do I still have time to send it over? You've said before that you can give more time, or I'll save it for the next round?

Thank you. I'm going to practice with these and see if it helps me understand. I'm one of those odd people who learns from being shown, not from reading. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
