My mother has a cousin who is deaf that lives in Chicago. He married a lovely, deaf woman who can talk. She lost her hearing at 36. Four years ago while I was at mom and dad's they came for a visit. It was such a true joy and I was so glad to spend the week with them. Truly lovely couple. And she was so tender hearted that she cried at the drop of a hat. Such a darling. Anyhow, when she got back, they diagnosed her with leukemia but with the therapy, she has done pretty well. I forgot to mention they are 77 and 80 years old. I was so glad when she started getting better and I knew it was my praying that helped. Well, I got an email from her tonight that said, he has Pancreatic cancer and stomach cancer. His 80th birthday party is Monday, so they said they would hold off on the chemo until Tuesday. (Wasn't that thoughtful?) She's having a big party and she just wondered how she'll get through it without breaking down. I realized at this point, I was damn lucky to have met them and spent what time I did with them. I'm a better person for having met them, spending time with them and loving them. Both, of them need some prayers and good thoughts, so I thought I would ask you all. There is no one on my flist that isn't throughtful too. You don't have to say anything, just keep them in your thoughts. Thank you all for always being here for me.

Hugs, Patt
