Farewell to David Bowie, Alan Rickman and Dan Haggerty.

They will be missed. I hope this month slows down now. We don't need to lose anyone else. What's weird is you are around them your entire life and you feel like you've lost a good friend. I know that's odd to say, but I do feel that way. I watched David Bowie's last video and sobbed my little heart out. Then I watched some movies with Alan Rickman in them today and cried again. This has been a tough week. I wish their families well and hope that we don't see many more passing this month.

Hugs, Patt

Trouble is, they have been around for so much of our lives. We know we're getting older but somehow we don't think of them getting older. We somehow see them as immune to the ills that beset the rest of us; we don't think of them contracting a killer condition, especially when they keep it secret.

So it pretty well comes as more of a shock when we hear that they've gone, even when our instinctive reaction is 'But he's so young!' Yes, for me, late 60s is young. For someone who's only fifty (or younger) it's more - 'Well he was getting old.' *Sigh*.

Yes, they'll be missed; but they'll also be remembered.

I hope so too.

They touched our hearts, influenced, inspired and helped us through the good and bad times in our lives. We'll miss them but they'll always be with us in our hearts, and future generations will keep them alive for years to come as they discover and take pleasure in their work.

*hugs* to their families and all those whose hearts they touched.
