Saw this and thought of you and the rest of your followers. :)

Day 06

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

I love wallpapers from fandoms and vids. My favorite fandoms are Sentinel, Almost Human, Forever, Person of Interest and Battle Creek. I would love one vid you really liked by anyone, it doesn't have to be new, and one wallpaper. Or one of anything fannish. I love being a fan girl. :)

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I wasn't even thinking about it when I posted on Day 1. I have some favorite Almost Human Fanfic stories that I would love to share. Together In Electric Dreams
Someone that wants to hurt John Kennex decides maybe the best way to do it, is to take care of his bot. If You Have a Heart, Does This Make You Human?
Dorian wonders if he is worth less because he doesn’t have a heart. Will John ease his mind or agree with him?
Warning: My first story ever in this fandom. Give me time. Giving Thanks
Captain Maldonado invites most of the squad to her house for Thanksgiving dinner. Dorian wasn’t invited.

Choose three works to rec. This could not be done, so I put some of my favorites and you can read through them if you'd like. :) I had so many more to list.

I interacted with someone I didn't know. I invited her to my circle. I did it. Yay.

Day 03

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I have two goals set for fannish work. The Sentinel Big Bang is coming up and I want to have two nice stories for that. I'm off to a good start already. :)

Day 2

In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul.

The book that meant the most to me in my life was To Kill a Mockingbird. I never dreamed that people were treated that way because of their skin color. I led such a sheltered life in Iowa. It has stuck with me all these years and remains my favorite book and movie.

tv show: The Sentinel. This is when I first learned about slash stories and how fun it was. I love Jim Ellison and Blair Sandburg. Here I am 20 years later, still doing the same thing.

Three self-recs:

1. Sipping with Sandy: Unable to teach and unwilling to be a cop, Blair decides to try his hand at owning his own bar. Slash.

2. The Knockout: A wealthy businessman goes to Seattle for three weeks and doesn’t have time to find dates for his business dinners. So he does the next best thing. He hires an escort to go everywhere with him and pretend that they are a couple. Slash.

3. Transformation: Jim is settled into a boring life, but two people come into his life and turn it upside down. Slash.

Finally I have a picture of the three of them goofing off at Christmas. At least you'll see what they look like. :) Left is Chris, middle is Thomas and right is Shannon.

I forgot to mention, Chris with the hat on has reddish brown hair with bright green eyes. Thomas has dirty blond hair with bright blue eyes and Shannon has brown hair and brown eyes. They don't even look like neighbors. LOL It's weird how kids look different.

[ profile] dimity_blue thank you so much for the Minion Iron Man key chain. And then to top it off, my name on it. It's wonderful. I'm putting it with my collection that everyone looks at. I can't thank you enough. You are a gem, that is for sure. Did you get my card? My son drew it for me, for you. I mailed it ages ago. I haven't received it back, so it must be on the way. It's really pretty. Tom does lovely artwork. :) Thank you again for being so thoughtful and sweet.

Hugs, Patt

PS: I just realized it would look so cute hanging on the wall next to my desk in the office. So that's what I just did. :) It looks so cute. :)

PSS: I'm supposed to ask you who your favorite Marvel character is. Sam wants to know. :)

What a bummer. It seems everyone has made the move over here, but I myself don't understand the first thing about this site.

about Debbie Reynolds dying one day after her daughter. I always said that no parent should have to outlive their children and maybe she wanted to be with her. But at any rate, I'm sad and she will be missed.

Hugs, Patt

You know that charity I told you about. Well, I was telling SNail about it in one of our posts and I thought I would copy and paste and save some time. It was the charity that was food and blankets for 18 families at a Family Shelter. So, here is how it went... I felt like crying during the entire delivery of the items. They were so gracious and thankful. I loved all eighteen families. Two of them had eight kids. Can you imagine? The teenage boys in the compound helped us deliver. They were so sweet. Sam was overwhelmed with happiness and love that day too. Everything went off without a hitch and the woman that was in charge asked me if I would help again next year. :) She said she would let me know about everything way ahead of time so I could get more donations. I do love a challenge. *grin* The whole thing was so wonderful for both myself and Sam. WE are so grateful for what we have in our lives. These people have nothing, but yet they seemed so happy to have the bungalow and a place for their kids to play. It's a very nice set-up. We had enough donations to get each of the children a toy of some kind. The teenage boys got footballs and basketballs and were thrilled to death. Sam said we're doing this again next year and she wants to do half of the cooking again like she did this year. It was so good for both me and Sam to remind us of how life could be and how it's our duty to help out our fellow man.

Have a wonderful day and week. I love you all.

May you have a wonderful day filled with sunshine, happiness and love. I hope you are well. And above all, you must eat lots and lots of cake. And I almost forgot. You have a story at AO3 from me. Enjoy.

Hi Barb. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a fantastic Birthday too. I've got company in for the holidays and have this fear that I'll forget to post your story. So that's why it's so early. I hope you enjoy it.

Happy Birthday, [ profile] agt_spooky

Best wishes and hugs, Patt

She needs to take in graham crackers, frosting, different types of candies and they are going to make gingerbread houses, the easy way. The frosting I picked up has little pieces of candy in it, so that will make it more festive. Then we got four kinds of candy to stick on the sides and door of the house. She's got enough candy to even build a sidewalk and other things. I already know she's going to have great fun. She loves to make art projects. If it turns out, maybe she'll let me take a picture of it this week. I think they aren't doing it until MOnday the 19th. She said something about they needed the stuff in ahead of time to see what they had to work with. I'm sending a whole box of graham crackers, so there is plenty for someone else if they dont have enough. Same with the frosting and candy. You never know if a family is down on their luck one week and can't send the things they wanted to.

Did I tell you all about my new job as a assistant to the reading coach at Sam's school? A better word would just be helper, not assistant. It's a half hour for first grade and a half hour for third twice a week in the computer lab. They read to me and I see how they're doing and give them the stars when they are done with each story. 30 minutes isn't enough time. There are ten kids in each of the classes. He said he was going to try and get it longer, but it would probably be after the first of the year. So Tuesday and Thursday each week, I help the kids. And they are all so cute. I really enjoy doing it. Marc, the reading coach said I'm really good with the kids. He said no one has ever signed up from now until April before, so he's very surprised with my help.
pattrose: (00 Shannon and me)
so that you could see how great Shannon looks. it's been 130 days sober and clean. Sam is so happy about having her mom back in the picture again. Not that she can take SAm yet, that will be a couple of years yet, but at least she's trying. And if it's sooner, then we know we did our part. :)
